Some tips when recording at the studio
- Drummers -
- Change drumheads two days before recording.
- Practice with a metronome to increase tempo accuracy.
- Practice stretching techniques minutes before recording.
- Drink plenty of water to hydrate yourself.
- Guitarists -
- Change guitar and bass strings the day before.
- Get guitars intonated by a competent professional.
- Buy guitars with humbucking pickups.
- Make sure guitar switches, pickups, and gear is in working condition.
- Singers/Vocalists -
- Write lyrics down, memorize them, and make them second nature.
- Warm up your voice before doing vocals.
- DO NOT strain your voice prior to recording.
- Drink plenty of water; avoid sodas or alcohol that may irritate your throat.
- General -
- Get plenty of sleep before recording. This is a must! You want to perform
and record to the best of your ability. Get rest and keep your mind and body
sharp and ready to go!
- Don’t bring alcohol, drugs, or visitors.
- Please bring respect, patience, and an open mind.
